Job Ready Fund

If you are facing financial hardship and starting a new job, you can access up to $750 to support you to get work-ready.

The Job Ready Fund helps job seekers get essential tools for work such as work boots, protective clothing or tools of the trade and licences (eg. White Card accreditation or Working with Vulnerable People registration)

Eligibility

You are eligible if you are facing financial hardship and are:

  • an Australian citizen and/or permanent resident or if not a permanent resident, a migrant who has been residing in Tasmania for more than six months, has working rights and are unemployed or underemployed, or
  • young person (18-25 years), or
  • woman, parent or carer returning to work; or
  • in receipt of a Centrelink allowance.

You must also have:

  • started a new job in the last six months, or
  • an offer of employment that can be verified, or
  • a current enrolment in or have completed a nationally recognised training program or
  • evidence that the proposed training or equipment will lead to improved employability skills or work readiness.
